Beat the winter blues this weekend by exercising your green thumb.  Whether you have yard space enough for expansive gardens or your plants are confined to a windowsill, you won’t want to miss this event.   At 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 28, 2017, get pro gardening tips from Smithsonian horticulturist, Matt Burch.  The program will be held at Green Spring Gardens Park in Alexandria, Virginia and is open to people aged 18 and older.  The one hour long class will focus on creating edible food gardens that thrive in confined spaces.  County residents are eligible for special rates at this event and interested people should register in advance through the Fairfax County Parktakes system.

Conveniently located less than 20 minutes east of Burke, Virginia, Green Spring Gardens Park is one of the many beautiful public outdoor spaces managed by
Fairfax County Park Authority.  Not able to make it to the event this weekend?  Plan to visit Green Spring Gardens Park on your next available weekend.  The park includes a museum, a national historic site, an outdoor classroom, gift shops, green houses, foot paths, and more.  For hours and greater detail of available activities in the park, visit the Green Spring Gardens webpage.

Be sure not to miss news of other exciting events in Fairfax County Parks by subscribing to
