Elizabeth changed that. Her communication was open and transparent. She had great ideas for what needed to be done to sell our house. Her marketing plan was amazing. My husband and I met Elizabeth at an open house for a home she was selling in Spring 2023. She was probably the fifth real estate agent we had met by then, and from the beginning she treated us the same as she did for all of the people who walked through the door. Even when she found out we weren't planning on seriously looking for another 3-4 months (we were doing our housing market research at that point), she dedicated time to talk to us at the open house, talk through some tips for the future, and even met with us at our home on a weekday evening as though we were already her client. All the other agents we had met at open houses until that point either didn't pay attention to people, or blew us off the moment they found out we weren't looking seriously just yet. During her consultative visit in our home she broke down some of the aspects we needed to know for the market and also what we needed to do to stay competitive (including when using a VA loan, which is what we had). She directed us to a couple of her local lender contacts, one of which we ended up going with who was extremely responsive to us and knowledgable about the VA loan process.
With the craziness that is the NoVA market, my husband and I were prepared to have to rent for another year, but Elizabeth was determined to find us the right home. Every time I emailed her with a potential home, within 1-2 hours she responded to try and set up an appointment. She made herself available and was also very responsive to us. Also, I'm the kind of person who asks a million questions and at no point did I ever feel "talked down to" or treated as though I was silly for asking the question.
We stumbled upon a home that was a "right house, right time" situation, and Elizabeth guided us in our first ever offer to stay competitive while not asking for more than we were willing to give. The sellers accepted and within a month we closed! Just wow! The process was so smooth, it made our head spin with just how seamless everything was. Seriously, we kept thinking "this is too easy - when is the other shoe dropping?" but it didn't! Elizabeth worked closely with all parties and was in constant communication with us on everything via email and text, including giving us guidance on what to look out for, reminders of all deadlines, etc. She would also share her own experiences when buying property with things that worked or didn't work for her, which helped us in some decision making. Her assistant Regina is also great and very responsive!
